Who we are
test.reserve.arctic.tf is a free service for reserving Team Fortress 2 game servers.
Data we collect
Account data (when you log in)
When you log in through Steam, we receive and store your Steam ID, display name, and avatar URL. We also retrieve your Steam account age, TF2 playtime, TF2 ownership status, VAC ban status, and profile visibility from the Steam Web API. This information is used to verify trust and prevent abuse.
Reservation data
When you reserve a server, we record details about the reservation. This is necessary to operate the service and enforce usage limits.
Server logs
During your reservation, the game server generates logs that may contain player names, Steam IDs, IP addresses, and chat messages. These logs are stored for 30 days for abuse prevention and debugging, then automatically deleted. Server logs are not included in data exports because they contain personal data of other players.
Ping test data (optional, anonymous)
If you choose to share your ping test results, we look up your approximate location and store it along with your latency measurements. Your IP address is used only for the geolocation lookup and is never stored.
How we use your data
We use your data only to operate this service:
- Steam identity: to authenticate you and display your name and avatar
- Steam trust data: to verify account legitimacy and prevent abuse
- Reservation history: to enforce usage limits and display your past reservations
- Ping data: to analyze latency across regions and improve server placement
The legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). For optional features like ping test submission, the basis is your consent.
We do not run any analytics, tracking, or advertising.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.

Data retention
Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Reservation records are kept indefinitely for service statistics, but are anonymized if you delete your account.
Server logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. This applies regardless of whether you delete your account.
Ping test submissions are anonymous by design and are retained indefinitely.
